To create a comprehensive Land-Use Action Plan, the Westside Future Fund created five target areas to zero in on the specific needs and challenges of each neighborhood. The process kicked off at the end of March with 12 draft recommendations for Mims Park and the Boone Corridor and continued with draft plans for English Avenue, Vine City, Booker T Washington/Ashview Heights/Washington Park/Just Us and Atlanta University Center. All the information, comments and recommendations from each target area will be combined at the end to create an actionable Land-Use Map with implementation and development strategies. A primary focus of the Action Plan is supporting current residents (renters and owners) with measures to protect against displacement, recognizing and preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the area, and identifying prime real estate for affordable housing and commerce.
You’ll find a detailed calendar here with specifics on each workshop. Whether you’re able to attend in person, or comment online – we welcome and encourage your comments, critiques and concerns throughout the process.
