After moving tons of earth and more than 100 fruit trees from its former location, Truly Living Well is getting settled into its new location at 324 Lawton St. SW Atlanta, GA 30310. Today marked its official opening with a ribbon cutting and VIP tour, followed by its first farmer’s market in the neighborhood and a free farm-to-table meal. Atlanta City Council Members Ceasar Mitchell, Kwanza Hall and Cleta Winslow spoke to commend the garden’s move to the West End. The city’s new Urban Agriculture Director Mario Cambardella, Atlanta Housing Authority’s President/CEO Joy Fitzgerald and Georgia Organic’s Executive Director Alice Rolls also congratulated Rashid Nuri on his organization’s new space. “This food will become the heartbeat of the community,” said Rolls.
